4 days journey across the Altiplano, from San Pedro de Atacama in Chile to Uyuni in Bolivia. The route slaloms at nearly 5000m between volcanos covered with sulfur and pastel colored lagoons.

Atacama desert

Simply the driest (non-polar) place out there. Ravines, salt desert, volcanos, geysers and lagoons near the village of San Pedro de Atacama.

Santiago Area

Few days near Santiago, walking up and down the colorful city of Valparaiso, sand boarding in the dunes of Concón or enjoying some pisco in the Valle del Elqui.

Northern Patagonia

Firsts steps into Patagonia. Before crossing to Bariloche in Argentina to get further south, I have spent a couple of days in the island of Chiloe, more particularly Chepu, a place out of time.

Southern Patagonia

After an endless journey across the plains of central Patagonia, rises the iconic mount Fitz Roy near El Chaltén, followed by the ice field of El Calafate and the Torres del Paine near Puerto Natales. At the end of the road, Ushuaia, in a Tierra del Fuego occupied on its chilean side by penguins and on its argentine side by roaring cities.

Carretera Austral

The austral road descends mountainside, passing in front of ice fields and wild valleys, to reach Villa O’Higgins, a small village away from everything, the true end of the world.

Scotland – Firth of Clyde

A week sailing around the Isle of Arran.

Pic Saint Michel

Little hike in Vercors massif, near Grenoble.
